11/20/13

I have been focusing this week on learning about how to overcome fear. There is a form of therapy called "exposure" and it helps 90% of people overcome their fear. That is where the phrase "facing your fears" can from.
Also, fear of death has tried to be avoided by tribes in the past by rituals that describe how dying should be respected and that anyone who has died lived a full life. These practices have been forgotten over the many years. Also, fear of death from Europe used to be distracted by the stories of life in heaven. However, people still dread sinning however, because they are afraid of living in pain for eternal life.
I plan to present a project and surprise the class and see if it scares any of them.

Psychological Study of Fear, 11/8 Entry

This month I am researching fear and how it affects a person. So far I have learned there are more than one kind of fear. For example, Being scared through shock and surprise is different than being afraid about something harmful physically, or mentally. I plan on surprising people to see there reactions and search for similarities, between that and them actually being horrified from being feared for your life.
I am looking forward to learning more about the study of fear.

10/25 Blog entry

This weekend I am going to store to pick up materials to create my model. I have gained a lot of knowledge on how the bridge was built and why it was designed. My plan is to bring in a notecard of the facts I learned. I am also going to bring in pieces of a pre-assembled project I will
Be constructing over the weekend I am not fully sure of what materials I will be using. I am debating using Popsicle stick and pasta, or scraps of wood and random trash. I am really looking forward to completing this project.

October 18th

This week, I looked into many architectual structures. I decided to study the architects who designs the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransico, Joseph Strauss, Charles Alton Ellis, and Irving Morrow. I plan on learning why they designed the bridge, how they came up with inspiration, and how hard it was to create models for it. For my project, I want to design a model of the bridge myself and see if there were more efficient ways to do it. I am looking forward to being able to learn about these architects.

October, 30 Day Challenge. 10/11/13

This month, I have chosen to do something. I am going to research a famous arcitect and research their style and inspiration to creating the structural designs of there buildings. Then I will recreate one of there structures in a model made from household objects to help me get an understanding of the difficulties of getting pieces to fit together. I will be able to create a flowing model of a real arcitectual building. I haven't yet chosen who I will be studying or what I will be creating but I will keep an open mind and find a fitting topic. Please stay updated for the next blog expected on the 18th.

Entry Two 9/27/13

This week I learned a lot more about the zodiac signs. I learned about Scorpios this week. Scorpio males are very prone to their own opinion. They like to speak their mind. Also, Scorpios are know to be winners. Scorpios also slut around until they find true love. When they do find love they are known to be very faithful to that of who they love.
I also learned about the Aquarius, which is Maggie's Zodiac sign. A lot of her traits blended with what her sign says. For example, it said that Aquarius' are competitive people and, knowing Maggie, she is very competitive. Also it says they are usually unusual people, who like to be individual. Again, knowing Maggie, she is a very different thinker. Aquarius' are mind-oriented. They are highly focused on intellectual activities.
Next week I plan on studying Virgo and Gemini, because I would like to try and compare traits to people I know, similarly to what I did with Maggie. I am hoping to get a bit more clear information about those two topics.
For my final project, I think I will find my classmates' signs and see if they relate to them in the way they behave and think. I will need to determine which zodiac sign they belong to this week as well.

30 Day Challenge, Entry 1

I have learned a lot about the zodiac calender in the past week. I have learned how which dates fall into which Zodiac sign. I also learned that there are four sun elements. Fire, water, earth, and air. I haven't found out how to determine which element belongs to which sign, but I have read it has something to do with the seasons.
I had encountered some issues trying to find sources of information, because the school's library didn't have any books about Zodiac signs. I solved this problem, by finding trustworthy websites and books that I will have access to this weekend.
This is a really cool topic to study, because I am learning a lot about something I didn't know was very interesting. I learned that people's personalities can be connected to when they were born. Libra males like to be around other people, and they like to try new things.
I plan to learn a lot more about Zodiac signs including the history and how it was created. I am not yet sure how I will present the information, but I would like to do something with peoples personalities and their zodiac signs.
